StreamingThe.Net Says Hello There!

Well first of all, for all you new-comers, which is essentially everyone since this website is only 3 weeks old, let me say that we are simply amazed with the amount of traffic we have received.  Yesterday, we broke a new record (it’s hard to speak of records with a 3 week old website) that we had over 15K pageviews.  I realize that’s not going to propell us to the top of Alexa, but for a new baby, that’s mighty hefty.

So what are our plans?

Well if we told you then it would take out all the fun of coming back and seeing all the new features.  Suffice to say that we are truly at the infancy of StreamingThe.Net  Soon we will open user registration and our users will be able to do a whole bunch of cool things that are not being done out there on the web (at least not all in one place…)

One thing for sure, we are not trying to impress anyone with a really fancy GUI.  Our aim is to get you quickly and accurately to your desired live media source. Whether it’s Live TV, Radio, (coming soon: Videos, Movies, and More).  You can expect to find it quickly here.

Sponsor Ads – What’s the deal?

Another point about site design.  There’s always a tough decision regarding ads placement.  In a perfect world, we’d all be Wikipedia with multi-million dollar endownments.  The truth is, it costs money to run a website.  The servers are expensive.  Developers don’t work only for donuts.  You will see some ads on StreamingThe.Net.   Our sponsors, mostly Google, are there to help us provide you with more quality entertainment, without having to ask for lame Paypal donations. (I hope we don’t have to eat that last statement in the future)…

Bottom line: I wanted to keep you all informed with where we are headed, and look forward to our community growing with your help and suggestions.   Check back here often and give your input on what you’d like to see here.

A. Thousands of channels, with more quality entertainment channels added on a weekly basis.

Q. What are the TV links sites doing and how will my site be different?
A. Until now, live tv sites can be lumped into two categories: Websites that ask for money to provide you with links that you can get for free, and websites that are free, but are essentially just html links.  No intelligence built in to the system, no search capabilities, no user interaction, etc…

Q. What’s the best way to let potential users know about this new website?
A. Easy, make a blog

The answers to all three questions provoked me to move forward:  Hence,  www.StreamingThe.net was born!

I have twenty years experience in building enterprise technical systems.  I am an avid tv watcher and fell in love with the concept of watching TV on the net.  The problem is, with my experience, I see when things don’t work well.  I’ve tried all of the live tv sites out there, and they don’t work the way I as a user would expect.  Therefore, I set out to build a better way.

www.StreamingThe.net is built with myself in mind (the toughest critic out there!)  Worse, I let my wife review the site.  She is a twenty year hi-tech professional as well.  If a website can pass her tough standards, then I know I’m on to something.

I think you’ll see from the first glance at streamingthe.net that the website was built on the principal of “Less is more.”  Less clutter, easy access to channels, and a search engine that actually brings results.

Over the coming days and weeks, I will show you how StreamingThe.net is the best way to watch live tv on the internet, and all the new and easy to use features that we’ve included to the site.   I’m looking forward to hearing from you, our readers and viewers, as well.
